Sillustani – Uros – Taquile Tour

Day 1
After you are transferred to the Hotel and checked in, you will rest for a while in order to acclimatize to the high altitude. Later, you and your guide will be driven to the ancient burial ground known as Sillustani. From here you may walk to the highest point on the peninsula, as the old Peruvians used to do. This is the best vantage point from which to capture photos of the burial towers.
Day 2:
You will begin your day with a hearty buffet breakfast in the hotel. Then, at the appropriate time, you will board our motor boat for an unforgettable excursion on Lake Titicaca. You will visit the famous Uros floating islands. The ancient inhabitants of the lake have built these islands out of Tortora reeds, and maintain them by continually adding more reeds to them. The lake dwellers also make their boats and houses out of the same material. You will have time to share with the people the Uros, and then we will continue on to the Island of Taquile. On this picturesque island the people maintain their old customs, dressing in traditional clothing and doing things the old way. You will witness the millenary techniques of hand- weaving beautiful textiles. Later in the afternoon, you will return to the Hotel.
Day 3:
After a delicious buffet breakfast you will be driven to the airport in order to catch your flight, and continue on your journey.
